Formed in 2011, Jonny & the Jazzuits have been bringing their distinctive blend of jazz and gospel to audiences throughout The Netherlands and beyond, performing at jazz festivals, clubs, churches, concerts and special events, as well as internationally in Belgium and Switzerland.

Their debut album, Psalms, Hymns & Spiritual Songs, released in 2015, was nominated for a Zilveren Duif Award (Silver Dove), the Dutch award for Christian and gospel music. Their second album, Temporary Accommodation (2017), received considerable acclaim and was selected as CD of the Week by Groot Nieuws Radio, the Netherlands' national Christian radio station.
 

In 2021 the band released the six-track Good Medicine EP,

inspired by the words of Proverbs 17:22: “A cheerful heart is good medicine.”
 

Their most recent album, Songs of Deliverance (2023), continued the band's journey of combining the freedom and improvisation of jazz with songs of faith, hope and worship.
 

Gotta Serve Somebody
 

Jonny & the Jazzuits are now preparing their most ambitious recording project yet:
GOTTA SERVE SOMEBODY – A Jazz Take on Bob Dylan's Gospel Years.
 

The forthcoming album will feature 12 new jazz arrangements inspired by songs from Bob Dylan's remarkable Gospel Years (1979–1981). Rather than recreating the original recordings, the project brings these powerful songs into the world of contemporary jazz, with plenty of room for swing, improvisation and the band's own distinctive sound.
 

Recording takes place in late 2026, featuring the core band alongside Gospel Boulevard and a number of special guest musicians. The album is planned for release in Spring 2027, followed by a special Premiere Concert.
